FAQ

If you left a survey for burglars to fill out the next time they ransacked your home, how would they rate the experience?
How did you learn about us?Rumors about rural houses having little Security.Location: 5/10Location was alright. Around 500 meters to the nearest neighbor. But unfortunately an hour away from any sizable population (20,000 plus being a sizable population.)Transportation: 10/10Transportation was top notch. The owners of the property never lock their Minivan or Pick-up truck. The keys are always left in the vehicles. Both are moderately new and somewhat non-descriptive so a perfect getaway vehicle. Not only did they prvehicles they also kept trailers in a easily accessible unlocked shed.Security: 9/10Security was lax. There is a gate but it isn’t locked. Doors aren’t locked unless the house is left unoccupied for more than 2 weeks. No cameras made it really easy. They did have a dog which made it a bit of a pain. He was easily disposed of as he was just a Labrador Retriever puppy. Owners are very light sleepers don’t rob if they’re around.Products: 10/10No place has better selection. The place had 3 DSLR cameras, 3 Workstation class desktops, 3 tablets, 4 drones, 6 Smartphones, 9 external monitors and 11 laptops. All of the items were of premium design and value (aka Apples or equivalent). The freezers and shelves were well stocked the rest of the property was much more appealing though. They also had a shop on the property with many tools ranging from mechanics to carpentry to fabrication. The tools were of medium quality. The shop also stored 2 ATV for added convenience. The shop wasn’t the jackpot though. The shed was the real treasure trove. This drive in shed held heavy equipment all with the keys in the ignition for easy accessibility. The average equipment’s value was around $100,000, with a combined value of around $1.5 Million. Unfortunately the heavy equipment is hard to transport and the market is too small to get away with it.The products all seemed gift wrapped for the taking. Everything was easy to find as it looked organized.Laws in the area: 10/10Owners aren’t allowed to use lethal force or even have a premeditated weapon for self defense. A robber in the area once accidentally locked himself into the garage place he was robbing. As the owners did not come home for a couple days he resorted to eating dog food. The end result was the owners were charged for negligence of the robber. Laws almost protect us. Owners are not supposed to attack us in any way or they may be charged.Would you recommend to your friends? If everybody is gone a resounding yes. Unfortunately that’s not very often as the house is occupied by Home-schooling kids, a Writer and the owner is a farmer who mostly works on property. Also if you intend to use brute force, bring a weapon. All the occupants are big. The average height is around 6 feet.BTW bring friends to help loot. It really requires a team of people to loot the place.
How do you feel about prospective employers asking to view/attach a link to your Facebook and/or LinkedIn profile as part of the submission process for jobs outside of social media?
There are both positive and negatives in this. Positve: this SM platforms can give a much more thourough picture of the candidate they are considering. Our histories once put on the net are there…. So if you have an honest and caring personality it will be revealed. If you have a tendacy to over react it is there. In fact much of our personality is displayed for the world to evaluate. It can be difficult for the average person to hide who they are. Impossible? Not at all. but after long conversations muchnis revealed about us. Now the negatives. Our flaws, anger points, prejudices, fears paranoias etc etc are laid bare as well.I cannot say no definitely not yes definitely• one has to weigh the entire picture to get an appropriate answer.
How is an average person expected to get through life in the US without a bureaucracy consultant to advise on how to properly fill out all the paperwork?
The lawmakers expect a reasonable average person to be able to guide self through the maze of laws and regulations.Still, some people value their time or are truthful about their abilities to comprehend things, and instead of getting a self-taught degree in taxation or legal intricacies of a company formation (and accounting/financial issues associated with that), those people choose to hire a professional specializing in those areas.I am personally an accountant (corporate accounting) which is as far away from personal taxes as you can imagine, my tax returns are tied to my spouse's and due to presence of several items which are not a common occurrence in an average person's life, I am not even trying to complete our taxes.I do my due diligence with all the information gathering, schedules, support documentation, record retention and such but I can't spend days pouring over it all to come up with a final number. So, I pay a professional to be on time, on spec, and on budget. With respect to legal advice, laws in US vary by state, so me being able to spend 3 years in law school, and then more years trying to be admitted to each of the Bar associations, and then have the ability to research cases for precedents - that's just not reasonable.Still, there are others who actually love this process, are knowledgeable, and can tell me a solution to my problem within 20 mins. Isn't this worth my money?

What is the best way to help a homeless person on the street? How can we help break these people out of a life of dependence?
Some thoughts (From experience): Find out why he is homeless - Do so in as non-judgmental and compassionate manner as you can. If he is simply experiencing a minor financial setback, then I would extend a helping hand to him until he gets on his feet. If it is something far more serious then I would advise that you:Assist him in seeking help from relatives or professional organizations - Without wanting to sound too harsh, if you determine that your friend is suffering from mental illness, substance abuse issues or gambling issues, you need to make certain that his problems do not become YOUR problems. His family and professional organizations are the best resources to start in helping him to obtain assistance. If he is unable to seek help from his family (unless it is for exceptional reasons) and he is unwilling to seek assistance from professional organizations (The Salvation Army, The Red Cross, etc) then you might wish to limit your involvement in the matter. This is to save the friendship as well as preventing you from being exploited. If he is mentally ill, then you need to get him professional assistance ASAP. DO NOT attempt to "treat" him yourself. Unless you are a mental health professional (and even then, as it may be seen as being a conflict of interest) there is likely little which you can do for him. If you have a family yourself, you may damage your own relationships. And, if your friend is prone to self-harm or violence, you may find that you have opened the floodgates to problems which you can't even begin to imagine. If he has substance abuse issues or gambling issues, then I would strongly advise that you make his seeking treatment immediately as being a requirement for your assistance. - A person undergoing significant problems in these areas may find themselves quickly in need of money and your home and your personal information may be abused to service those needs. If they won't seek, help, I would suggest that you not get too involved in their situation.Make certain that you have the "buy-in" of your spouse,SO or partner BEFORE you assist your friend. Unless your own relationship is deeply troubled (which would likely mean that your friend staying with you would be inadvisable) there really isn't any reason not ask your partner before you prassistance. A homeless person (even a relative) can cause severe strains on a household. Not seeking advice from the people who may be affected is both unwise and unsound in judgment.Set a time limit on the person's stay - Make it both reasonable for you both and a firm length of time. When/if the day comes for your friend to leave, help them relocate into satisfactory housing until he can obtain something better. Be supportive, and yet resolute, about your need to reclaim your life, while still working to help your friend.I was going to list several other items, but it seems that people who answered after I did have covered those areas successfully.Bottom line: You need to determine why your friend is homeless and prhim with assistance. That assistance should involve seeking professional help and the help of his family (if he has one) and should be geared towards providing him with long-term solutions. If your friend is mentally ill or has substance abuse problems, he MUST address those before (or during) the time you are helping him.Make certain that you have the buy-in and support of your spouse or SO before you assist your friend or your own relationship will suffer. And make certain that set a time limit on how long your friend will stay with you.
